Notes on supported devices
The eduroam access method used at the University of Passau is supported by all platforms currently available on the market (Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, Android, iOS, Windows Phone).
Unfortunately, due to the vast number of devices and the rapid development in models, problems can arise with the use of eduroam, especially for mobile devices. Problems with our eduroam access method tend to arise with some Android operating systems. According to our analyses, this is caused by faulty device software. The manufacturers are responsible for troubleshooting, but experience has shown that one often hopes in vain.
Right of return
We therefore recommend that you check whether you can return your newly purchased mobile device if it does not work with eduroam.
Software updates
If you cannot return your device, you should check whether the manufacturer provides a software update – either directly on the device or using a utility program on a personal computer. Further information should be available on the device manufacturer's website.
